Mr. Damcho Rinzin began his career with the then Department of Tourism under the Ministry of Trade and Industry, serving as a researcher and marketing officer. He completed Bachelor of Applied Management in Hospitality and Tourism from the University of New Brunswick, Canada. He then completed double master’s degree in tourism and international business from James Cook University, Australia.
He currently serves as the Director of the Department of Tourism, leading the National Tourism Organization (NTO) of the Kingdom of Bhutan. Mr. Damcho is a passionate advocate of “High Value, Low Volume” – the unique tourism vision of Bhutan and is deeply committed to fostering regenerative tourism that benefits both people and the planet.
Driven by a strong sense of purpose for his work, he finds his role not only professionally rewarding but personally meaningful.
